The Old-Fashioned

Jump to Recipe

Called “old-fashioned” because barkeeps of yore would fancy up a base combination of liquor plus all manner of fruit, fortified wine and god-knows what else. So the ‘cool kids’ asked for a drink ‘the old-fashioned way’ meaning a simpler combo of sprit, sugar and bitters.

The Ticonderoga Cup

Jump to Recipe

One of my favorite restaurants here in Atlanta is a little place tucked inside the popular Krog Street Market in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward — the Ticonderoga Club. Founded by Regan Smith and Greg Best, Greg single-handedly launched Atlanta’s cocktail renaissance in 2014 running the bar at Holeman & Finch. This take on the julep is their namesake drink and features pineapple syrup, sherry, and aged rum. Try it – I promise you will love it.

The Whole Megillah

Jump to Recipe

Here’s a mocktail to satisfy not only the kids but the non-drinking adults among us. This one has it all. In other words, it’s “the whole megillah!” The drink’s name refers to the practice of reading the story of Purim – you guessed it – the Megillah – in one sitting. We’ve got multiple juices, a touch of sugar, plus a bit of delicious vanilla thrown in too!
