Savannah in Summary

Spotlight on the Stairs

Although I blogged about our trip to Savannah while we were there (twice, actually), I wanted to highlight some other photos I’ve just managed to get around to posting – there are some good ones of the little guy in there. As you can see above, Sam LOVES the stairs at my Mom’s place, and wasn’t happy unless he was crawling up and down them. I’ll be on the road in San Francisco for the next few days, but hope to post some images if I find anything to shoot between meetings. Full photo gallery of the Savannah visit is here.

Seems like a Dream…

Blue Room

Quick trip to NYC for one night this week – stayed close to Columbus Circle at Dream NYC – where the rooms have a lovely glow about them. It took me at least 10 minutes to figure out which switch turned off the ‘soothing’ lights. Felt like I was back in the 70s, less the shag carpet. Nice room nonetheless.

Pool Party!

Sam had a great time on July 4th at a pool party to celebrate his playgroup buddy Anavi’s first birthday. The kids had a great time in various lawn-pool accoutrements, and the parents tried to stay cool. More photos here.

Tour de Mashup

Unlike back in the day when I was with CNNSI.com, real-time biometric and GPS data on the competitors in the Tour de France is now apparently being published into the public domain. Typolis/Ubilabs have created an amazing mashup between Google Maps and data being published by SRM. Here is the result – realtime tracking of the riders, complete with heartrate, speed and similar metrics. Very slick – and better than what I’ve seen on the ‘big sites’ – including ESPN.com. Too bad we can’t see Lance or his disqualified heirs to the yellow jersey.
