As seen from our front yard in Grant Park, Atlanta GA. Shot (and cropped in dramatically) at 200mm leaning against my front stoop, flat on my belly ;-). Sam seems to have absconded with my GorillaPod, so I had to make do. Thank the photographic overlords for the full-frame goodness of the Canon 5D, otherwise this would look more like a bunch of dots than the moon.
hey cookie, this is beautiful! ill show it to the H’s when they wake up- its much better than the view we had shivering at their bedroom window! way too cold to go outside! thanks!!!
Joey, that is fantastic! I tried and tried to get a picture but just don’t have a good enough camera. I swear this looks like something from CNN… maybe you need to pursue a different career? 🙂 Our 8 year old Canon just died (very unceremoniously) so we’re in the market for a new camera. Think we look @ the Canon 5D?
Thanks, Dawn. You probably didn’t know, but I was a photojournalist for around 10 years – so I did pursue that career for a good long while! If you have bug badly, like I still do, the 5D is a great camera for the money. The full-frame sensor is spectacular, and is a welcome change from dealing with the 1.4X cropping factor for years on other smaller sensor cameras. It really brings back the beauty of shallow depth-of-field I’ve missed, and the images are high enough resolution to be useful for years to come. Great to hear from you!
