
This softer, more approachble twist on the classic 1919 Italian aperitif. It was created in 2011 by bartender Charlotte Voisey, who swapped the bold, punchy components of a traditional Negroni for lighter, botanical, and sweeter amao as alternatives. It was popularized by the late Gary Regan.
Ingredients
- 1 oz London Dry Gin
- 1 oz Lillet Blanc
- 1 oz Aperol
Method
- Combine all ingredients in chilled mixing glass.
- Fill with ice and stir 30 seconds or until well diluted and outside of glass is frosty.
- Strain over a large rock of ice in an old-fashioned glass and garnish.
