GP Halloween Parade

flirting

The leaves are turning, the smell of fireplaces starts to waft through the ‘hood in the evenings, and the days are ending earlier. That can mean only one (well maybe a few) thing – the annual Grant Park Halloween Parade. This year’s version wound through the park rather than on the streets around it. I can see the sense in it (no roads blocked off, a shorter route) but the narrow paths of the park made it slow going for the hundreds of lions, princesses, spidermen, red sox players, red sox fans, totem poles, and countless other costumed participants. In the photo above, Sam and his buddy Sophie flirt on the hillside above the parade ending. See more photos from the event in the slideshow here.

Ah, the glory of a true brick oven pizza. In this case, the brick oven in question resides in the backyard of our friends Kate and Jay, and the pizza it produced this evening were basically the best ever to pass our lips. Simply amazing.

T Minus Five…

Well, the big day moves closer and closer. Looks like we will still win the great 2008 baby race with Amy’s sister-in-law, the ‘other’ Amy Handelman. It’s a long story, but we sold the naming rights in 2003. Anyway, Amy H in Rochester has a date for her baby, November 21st, just in time for Turkey Day. We are of course due on Halloween. Amy is getting a bit more uncomfortable, but continues to look just great. I told her yesterday that I continue to be in awe of what she is going through, and doing so for the second time is even more remarkable to me. Stay tuned for for more updates!
