So I keep a lot of messages in my inbox. Mail.app on the Mac rolls that way – with lightning-fast searching by keyword in any field, I have a system where I flag messages for follow-up (or now, with Leopard, using the ‘to-do’ flag). Long story short is that I keep *everything* in the main inbox for ease of access along with some project-based smartfolders. When our Exchange system reminded me that I was over the space allocation and with Trotz 2.0 due any moment now, I was doing some housekeeping this afternoon to archive off to my local drive all of my September messages. That left me with 6,666 messages in my inbox. Coincidence? Good thing this didn’t happen on Wednesday – that would have been far too spooky. Of course, having been born on June 6, 1966 (6/6/66) also makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up as well.
Livin’ it Up, Rochester Style

This video gem, created in 1963 around the time of the opening of Rochester’s Midtown Plaza Mall, is a beautiful little time capsule that captures a rich time in the history of Amy’s hometown. There’s a brief glimpse here of Pittsford Plaza, too, which is just around the corner from Amy’s childhood home. Hat-tip to my friend John Mitchell, who’s wife also grew up in the thriving Rochester metropolis.

- hoping we bought enough candy to survive the onslaught. Damn that DST extension. #
Happy Halloween 2007

In keeping with the tradition established in 2005 and again in 2006, I had to capture a photo of Sam, Amy and our yearly pumpkin creation in 2007. We thought Baby #2 might get in the way of providing a sugar high to all the neighborhood kiddies, but alas, there has been limited activity with regard to Trotz 2.0’s arrival over the last 24 hours. Our candy gave out before 8pm, thanks at least in part to Congress’ decision to extend DST until next weekend, making both the candy lobby and the kiddies quite happy to have an extra hour of daylight for candy collection. Next year, this photo will be more crowded, that much we do know!
