joke time
As we prepare for the new baby, I realize I’m blogging far less often about Sam, so we are going to try to rectify that. He passed a big milestone today – I taught him how to tell a joke.
- Knock-knock.
- Who’s there?
- Boo. Boo who?
- Don’t cry <daddy, mommy, etc>
He even ‘gets’ it – giggling everytime he tells it. Very astute for his 2.5 years, methinks.
Bedtime for Sammy
We passed an important milestone yesterday. After dad ran around all weekend gathering the nuts, bolts, plywood base, mattress pad, sheets, comforter, pillow, etc for Sam’s new ‘big-boy bed,’ I had the pleasure of tucking him in for the first time last night – and our big guy slept through the night on his brand-new twin bed. I’ll have to sneak in and grab a photo in the morning and add to this post later on. Now there is room for Trotz 2.0 in Sam’s crib, expected in two weeks now, and counting.
sam at home
Before I head off on my adventure to the far East, I wanted to post a few photos of our little guy. There’s this book – Something Queer is Going on at the Ballpark – that he just loves. It involves these two elementary school girls, one who is an amateur detective (see SQIGOATCafeteria, as well as others) and the other, in this case, is on the baseball team. Someone steals her lucky bat and glove, and hijinx ensue. Well, Sam got tired of his wrapping-paper-roll-bat and a wad of tinfoil, so we picked up a t-ball set and some extra whiffle balls at Target. He loves it!
Since getting Sam down for a nap has become a challenge lately, we’ve resorted to bribery. Sidewalk chalk, seen above, is one example. He loves to spend time on the front sidewalk scribbling, playing tic-tac-toe with us and just hanging out.
