What’s a Jew to do on 12/24?

Get together with friends and eat Chinese, of course! Hosted by the Simons, with food fetched by Joel Silverman from what Sam calls ‘that Chinese pancake place,’ otherwise known as Cafe 101 on Buford Highway, it was a fun time to get all the kids together and eat too much.

Rochester Thanksgiving

We headed North for Thanksgiving with the Handelman clan. It was everything that holiday feels like it should be – a fire in the fireplace, grandmas and grandpas doting on their grandchildren, and a beautiful snowfall to top it all off and make Sam (and his Dad) happy to have taken the trip. We had a grand time with everyone, playing in the snow, getting Noah and Carter to spend quality time together (and celebrate their birthdays), visiting the natural history and kids museums, and just hanging out.

Election Night

So much has been said about the 2008 Election already – I don’t have much to add. Let’s just say that Sam is very happy that ‘Mr Obama’ as he calls him came out on top. I had the pleasure of working out of the CNN.com newsroom on the big night, which for our purposes was something of a sleeper – with polls pretty much clearly indicating who was going to win, we didn’t melt down the internet (or our ad serving) quite the way we thought we might. We were more than prepared for anything that might happen – in the end it was just a pleasure to see how things unfolded.
