T Minus One…

So tomorrow is the forecast ‘big day’, after 40 weeks, Amy is at full term on 10/31. Her doctor’s appointment today indicated that things are progressing, with the baby’s head dropping down a few stations, and some dilation happening too. My cameras are charged, our bags are packed, and of course, both Sam and I are coming down with a head cold just in time for our big event. Amy is fine, however, and more ready than ever. Stay tuned – I don’t think a Halloween baby is out of the question now…

Trick or Treat on Turner Street

sammyOne of the best-loved perks for the children of Turner Broadcasting employees has to be the annual Trick or Treat on Turner Street when the Techwood campus is transformed into a Halloween festival for all the kiddies. There were hundreds of kids and parents on hand for scary festivities created by Turner’s more creative types, as well as a marching parade around the circle in front of the old Mansion (seen in the background at left).  Sam had a grand old time last year in his Tigger costume, and had a blast again yesterday, this time sporting his Red Sox outfit. In this photo gallery, you can see I captured some coworkers and their kids as well. Enjoy.

Party Like It’s 2004

halloween 2007
Now I’m not saying this is the only reason, but I do not believe it’s purely coincidental that the Red Sox have only won the World Series in any years since 1918 when my lovely wife was not pregnant! With Sam in 2004, and now with the player yet-to-be-named roiling around in Amy’s belly in her 39th week, our beloved Sox have won yet again. Now while I’d like to assure all my Red Sox friends that we will keep up our end of this bargain, I may need some help convincing Amy of the same. Anyway, I’m darn ecstatic, and know that Sammy will be at least as excited when he wakes up to hear the news in the morning. Go SOX!
