Wow, finding out a friend has died is the worst. Finding out two years after the fact is even worse. So sorry to hear of Doug's passing. I enjoyed working, laughing and talking hockey with him. RIP, friend.

Dear Mr. Osborne:

I'm a WWII Navy veteran and wonder if you would show "Navy Blue and Gold," with Robert Young, Tom Brown, James Stewart and Lionel Barrymore. It's one of my all-time favorites.

I'm also a retired art teacher and have done a pen and ink montage-type drawing of my all-time favorite film, "Casablanca." I would love to mail a print to you. May I have a mailing address?

A faithful fan of TCM...

December 7, 2009
Jon,
Our Hearts are hurting today rememebring you.
The void of you in our lives is hard to handle.
It is your 2nd Anniversary since you passed away.

Rosie had to be to sleep yesterday.
We hope she is keeping you company.
I know you called her the hairy Rat. ( Rosie my long hair 3.5lb Chihuahua)

Your Mom. Dad & Grandma are going to toast you @ The Palm tonight.
You will be held in our hearts forever.
We miss you JB!
Love,
Aunt Holly & Uncle Lenn

We just returned from Atlanta on November 15, 2009. It was Judie Barkan's Birthday (Jon's Mom & my older Sister). On the way to the Atlanta Airport we stopped by to visit Jon. It was amazing how many of his friends left little treasures on his stone & grave. Hockey pucks, Golf Balls, Baseballs for the Cubs, he loved that stadium and the traditional rocks or stones.
I left my traditional Starburst all flavors. Why you may ask? It was our last conversation at his home on Friday November 2007 Sabbath. Jon to my left
the girls at a little table near us. We came to meet Benjamin who was one month old. Jon bent over to tell me @ Halloween Elizabeth offered him a Starburst as a joke. He reminded me of the following story:
When Jon was about 6 or 7 I took him to the movies and he wanted Starburst. I bought him his very own. Typical Jon he ate them all and everything else we bought to eat & drink. Jon went home and remembers throwing up rainbow color from the Starbursts he ate. He never could eat another Starburst.

I remember saying come on Jon all the times we went to the Knicks Games, went out to dinner this is what you remember of the time we spent together.

When my sister Michelle called to tell me that we lossed Jon. All I could think of was our last dinner together. All of the family around the Shabbat table and Jon telling me this story.
December 7th is around the corner. We can't believe he will be gone 2 years.
Sunday we were with Abby, Miriam & Benjamin at Judie's Birthday. Have they grown and what beautiful children he left behind.
All I kept thinking of what would Jon have said to his Mom.
Miss you my G_d Son...

Per your request for feedback regarding CNN Enhanced: It's great. I read through it every morning (with the sound off) while I drink a cup of coffee. You did a good job as product manager. It's a superb concept. On the negative side, it's been impossible so far to find anyone who will take ownership of the service. I've written to Dish, CNN and Echo Star to report two articles (Mars Science Lab & Endeavour) on the Tech/Science option that have resided there since December 2008 and it seems that nobody is steering the ship. Do you have an address for a POC who is responsible for maintaining CNN Enhanced?

great last name, i'd say. what do you know about your family history. My grandfather, John F. Trotz, came to USA in 1890's and, after briefly settling in Detroit, where his older brother Michael lived, came to Scranton, Pa. for a wedding, met my grandmother, and stayed. Like hundreds of others from his former hometown in Poland, Suwalki, he became a coal miner. He was killed in the mines when he was 40, leaving my grandmother with six kids at the height of the Depression in 1929. My father, Edward Trotz, was 3 at the time. I ran Trotz through the Twitter search engine and found your name. You are following me, too. I am 54 and live in Baltimore, where my father moved looking for work after being discharged from the Army Air Corps after the war. My Dad will be 83 on Nov. 26. He named me after his father, and my son is named after my father. I also have two daughters....Sincerely, John Trotz
