Bob Mould's US Tour Kicks Off

Here's a gallery of photos I shot on Friday night on Bob Mould's second US show to promote his new album. I've become friends with Bob through some mutual acquaintances, and he asked me to shoot the show. His new disc, Body of Song is a return to some of his earlier roots - a lot less electronica, a bit more guitar, and great listen. I'm particularly fond of the track Paralyzed, and the whole disc is must for any Husker Du, Sugar or Bob fan. I first photographed Bob's last stop in Atlanta in 2002, shortly after Modulate was released. This stop was less about the AV-enhancements and more about the music - and I think the fans appreciated that.

Official GTA Liberty City Stories Web Site Launches

Oh my my. Rockstar Games has launched a website dedicated to what looks to be the PSP killer app - Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. The site has an amusing backstory for the pending Playstation Portable title, including a link to a fake Ammunation.net site. The site features emails to a reporter at the Liberty City daily rag, the 'Liberty Tree', all rendered in yellow-on-blue CC:Mail glory and give us some insight as we not-so-patiently wait for the release of the game on October 24th.

Liveblogger inside NOLA data center continues posting

First hand accounts keep coming on this blog -- from a guy working for a hosting company (DirectNIC.org). He and a small team of colleagues remain in New Orleans to keep their network up and running. Text and images posted regularly. Link (Thanks, Tom Whalen and others) (Via BoingBoing).

The streaming video he has running is amazing all on it's own. This guy has been posting photos, running this webcam etc. Amazing, really.

Also of note: Streaming local police scanner here. And this video blog on Current documents one young Cajun's efforts to assist in rescue efforts. His analogy of asking a Cajun to come help people with his flat bottom boat is akin to asking a child at a fat camp to come help with a surplus of pizza. Bless him.
